Players Racquet Shop PDX has been a fixture in the Portland racquet-sport scene for more than 30 years, having opened in 1985. Players relocated from its old home on Northeast 32nd and Broadway to its new location on Northeast Sandy Boulevard in 2001. Lance Holm, the current owner, has been with Players from the beginning. While still in high school, he began stringing tennis racquets on weekends, and 11 years later, he purchased the firm. Lance and his partner expanded the firm and opened a Westside site between 1996 and 2006. Since 2006, Lance has been the sole proprietor of the original Portland facility.
